On December 6th at Stanford University, Sustainable Silicon Valley held their annual Summit, where Silicon Valley businesses come together to take stock of their progress on the path to sustainability, and to inspire the work for the coming year.

The focus of this year's summit, appropriately, was "WEST - Water, Energy, Smart Technology". This focus embraces water, energy and the interplay between them -- key resources strategic to any sustainabile region. To that it adds Silicon Valley's smart technology -- the sensing, analyzing and decision systems which will enable all players to manage those resources adaptively and intelligently.

"Transformational change in the way our region delivers and uses energy and water is on the horizon. The opportunity is huge. The payoff, a resilient Silicon Valley and new global markets for technology, is even greater…" --- SSV WEST

InnovatingSMART was there -- scouting SMART systems for future Innovation Stories, providing inspiration through animated displays from SSV's annual "Call to Art", and exhibiting the Vision 2050 infomural developed by Robert Horn for the World Business Council for Sustainable Development.
