• “What we are trying to understand is how the forest is potentially going to change in the future and climate change is a big part of that. Climate and fire certainly interact, they have relationships that are clearly statistically shown.”
• “What we're trying to provide is the science and understanding of historic conditions, current conditions and projections for the future. Implementing those into policy and then actual on-the-ground management is a whole 'nother step.”
• “My focus is to continue doing research on forest ecology so we can understand how forest ecosystems are working better and fire ecology and ideally that research is based in science that can help inform human management of ecosystems or human coexistence with other species.”
